Simplified vascular inflammatory response; mediator families and tissue context are not exhaustively drawn.

Concept 01

Hemostasis and inflammation

Platelets and coagulation form an initial seal; inflammatory cells remove debris and coordinate subsequent repair.

Concept 02

Proliferation

Fibroblasts synthesize extracellular matrix, new vessels develop and epithelial cells migrate to cover the wound.

Concept 03

Remodeling

Collagen organization and tensile strength change over time; healed tissue typically does not regain all characteristics of uninjured tissue.

Education / safety note: Real wounds differ by tissue type, perfusion, infection, diabetes, nutrition and other factors; wounds require individual clinical assessment.
